Scott Crompton, Blade Studios aim to buoy music industry

Scott Crompton, executive producer at Blade Studios, is today's featured guest on The Big Picture. The new music production studio plans to open in the fall. It will be able to produce traditional music albums, and help the film industry with some of its postproduction/ADR needs.

The prospect of opening a new music studio in Shreveport jazzes Crompton, and he believes that Blade Studios will play a key role in rebuilding Shreveport's music industry. It seems his office phone has been ringing off the hook with local talent eager to contribute to the project.

"What we’re going to do is tap into the Shreveport inertia, give it a little nudge, and it’s really going to take off," Crompton said. "I’m convinced that if you can get film people to come here [and enjoy it], then we have a real leg up on the music side."

Blade Studios is currently under construction, and will be located inside the Biospace 1 building at the Intertech Science Park in Shreveport.
