Before Midnight

Now playing
Drama, 108 min., R
Movie Information
Almost two decades have passed since Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) met on a train bound for Vienna and audiences met the star-crossed pair in 1995’s Before Sunrise. In 2004, Before Sunset continued the story, and the eagerly awaited third chapter Before Midnight revisits the couple nine years later in Greece. Jesse and Celine have grown from infatuated lovers to weary parents, but Hawke and Delpy have preserved the souls of their characters flawlessly. Richard Linklater (Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Bernie) rejoins the story as director as well as co-writer with Hawke and Delpy.

Reviews
"In the House is a mystery, but it investigates a far tougher riddle than what makes Claude tick—it's trying to figure out why, exactly, voyeurism and mystery delight us so. In the process, it delights us."
- Zachary Wigon, Village Voice
"All the way up to the stunning final shot, Ozon urgently asks whether, for storytellers, it’s better to be on the outside looking in, or the inside looking out."
- Noel Murray, The A.V. Club
